SR 347 lane restrictions continue Oct. 5–9: the weeknight schedule

See the northbound and southbound SR 347 lane-restriction schedule for Oct. 5–9, work-zone speeds and what remains unconfirmed.

The continuous weekend lane restriction on State Route 347 is scheduled to end early Monday, Oct. 5. The work zone will then shift into a weeknight pattern that runs through Friday morning.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers should expect one-lane restrictions between Casa Blanca Road and Mammoth Way on Monday through Wednesday nights. A southbound-only paving restriction is posted for Thursday night.

SR 347 remains open during the work. The practical concern is slower travel through the merge and active work area, especially after 8 p.m.

Oct. 5–7: materials testing in both directions

ADOT's current schedule lists the following restrictions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights:

  • Northbound SR 347: one lane from Casa Blanca Road to Mammoth Way, 8 p.m.–4 a.m.

  • Southbound SR 347: one lane from Mammoth Way to Casa Blanca Road, 8 p.m.–5 a.m.

  • Work listed by ADOT: materials testing

The northbound and southbound work zones cover the same corridor in opposite directions. The later 5 a.m. southbound end time is worth noting for early commuters heading toward Maricopa.

Thursday night: southbound paving

The posted pattern changes Thursday, Oct. 8.

ADOT lists southbound SR 347 from Mammoth Way to Casa Blanca Road as one lane from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9, for paving.

The current notice does not list a matching northbound restriction for Thursday night. Drivers should still check AZ511 before leaving because construction schedules can change for weather, equipment or other unforeseen conditions.

What drivers should expect

ADOT advises drivers to allow extra time, slow down, follow the posted speed limit and merge safely around crews and equipment.

The agency's project page lists a 55 mph speed limit throughout the 14-mile project corridor and 45 mph in active work zones. Those reduced speeds apply even when the line of traffic looks light.

The Oct. 9 weekend plan is not final yet

ADOT's look-ahead says overnight lane restrictions are expected during the weekend beginning Friday, Oct. 9. The agency has not yet posted the final direction-by-direction limits and hours for that operation.

That distinction matters. Weekend work is expected, but drivers do not yet have enough official detail to plan around a specific start time or segment. OurMaricopa will treat that schedule as developing until ADOT publishes a dated advisory and it can be checked against AZ511.

The current Oct. 5–9 schedule is the reliable planning baseline:

  • Monday–Wednesday: northbound one lane, 8 p.m.–4 a.m.

  • Monday–Wednesday: southbound one lane, 8 p.m.–5 a.m.

  • Thursday night: southbound one lane, 8 p.m.–5 a.m. Friday

  • Friday, Oct. 9 weekend work: details still pending
