Legal Terms, Privacy, Disclosures, and Policies
PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY. This document constitutes the complete public legal policy statement governing access to and use of the OurMaricopa website, applications, accounts, directories, listings, community tools, administrative processes, paid products, and related services. By accessing or using any portion of OurMaricopa, creating an account, submitting information or content, communicating through the service, or purchasing a product or subscription, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the provisions applicable to your use of the service.
In this document, "OurMaricopa," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the independent operator of the OurMaricopa community platform. "You" and "user" refer to any visitor, member, applicant, business representative, property publisher, event host, vendor, job seeker, employer, or other person who accesses or uses the service. "Content" includes text, photographs, videos, documents, listings, applications, messages, recommendations, reports, and other materials submitted to or displayed through the service.
1. Acceptance, Eligibility, and Scope of Use
Your access to and use of OurMaricopa is conditioned upon compliance with this document and all notices, instructions, eligibility requirements, and product terms presented within the service. If you do not agree, you must not use the service. Certain features require an account, a verified email address, an approved relationship to a business, an active subscription, administrative review, or another stated qualification. The availability of one feature does not create eligibility for another feature.
You must provide current, complete, and accurate information; maintain the confidentiality of your credentials; promptly update information that changes; and accept responsibility for activity conducted through your account. You may not impersonate another person or organization, use an account without authorization, misrepresent a relationship to a business, circumvent access controls, scrape private information, interfere with service operation, introduce malicious code, automate abusive activity, or use OurMaricopa for an unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, or harassing purpose.
We may restrict, suspend, disable, ban, or terminate an account or feature when reasonably necessary to protect users, businesses, the public, the integrity of the service, or our legal interests. Disabled accounts cannot sign in, but previously published content may remain available. Content associated with a banned account may be hidden or retained for moderation, audit, dispute, safety, or legal purposes.
2. Independent Platform Status and General Disclosures
OurMaricopa is an independently operated local directory and community information platform. It is not an official website, department, agency, representative, or affiliate of the City of Maricopa, Pinal County, the State of Arizona, the Arizona Department of Transportation, Arizona 511, or any other governmental body. References to public agencies, public information, road conditions, weather, community resources, or public services are provided for informational and identification purposes only and do not imply sponsorship, approval, partnership, or endorsement.
OurMaricopa provides discovery, publishing, advertising, communication, and administrative tools. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not own, operate, employ, license, certify, inspect, supervise, recommend, guarantee, or endorse the businesses, organizations, employers, applicants, agents, brokerages, landlords, properties, event hosts, vendors, sellers, products, services, prices, statements, or activities displayed through the service.
An "OurMaricopa Verified" designation means only that a claimed listing relationship was reviewed under our administrative process. It is not a professional-license verification, background check, government certification, guarantee of identity, guarantee of lawful operation, endorsement of quality, or promise of any particular result. Listing details may be supplied by users, businesses, public sources, or administrators and may become incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or outdated. Users must independently confirm material facts before relying upon them or entering into a transaction.
Sponsored placements, paid promotions, and sponsored articles are intended to be identified as such. Payment may affect promotional placement or visibility, but it does not constitute an editorial endorsement, certification, or guarantee by OurMaricopa.
Some pages may contain referral or affiliate links, including links to independent gig-work platforms. When a user follows one of these links and completes applicable requirements, OurMaricopa may receive a referral reward or other compensation. Affiliate opportunities are promotional independent-contractor offers, are not employment with OurMaricopa, and are not represented as employer job postings. Eligibility, availability, compensation, expenses, taxes, platform terms, and referral offers may change or vary by user and location. Users must review the provider's current terms before registering or performing services.
3. Directory Listings, Claims, and Administrative Review
Directory listings may describe businesses, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, community resources, professionals, and other local entities. A listing may exist before it is claimed. Claim approval establishes only an approved account-to-listing management relationship and does not transfer ownership of the listing, create an agency relationship with OurMaricopa, or prevent administrative correction or removal.
We may review, approve, reject, reclassify, correct formatting, request supporting information, suspend, expire, merge, mark as duplicate, or remove content that we reasonably believe is inaccurate, unlawful, unsafe, misleading, abusive, infringing, obsolete, or inconsistent with the purpose or requirements of the service. Administrative review does not relieve a submitter of responsibility for accuracy, authorization, legal compliance, or the consequences of publication.
Approved owners are responsible for maintaining accurate public information and ensuring that all persons managing a listing remain authorized. OurMaricopa may remove an owner, unclaim a listing, or require renewed proof when ownership, employment, management authority, or account status changes.
4. User Content, Media Rights, and Publication License
You retain any ownership rights you lawfully possess in Content you submit. By submitting Content, you represent and warrant that you own the Content or possess all permissions, releases, licenses, and other rights necessary to submit and authorize its use. This obligation includes permissions reasonably required for identifiable people, private locations, copyrighted works, trademarks, music, photographs, video, and other protected material appearing in the Content.
You grant OurMaricopa a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, crop, optimize, transcode, watermark, format, display, distribute, make technically necessary derivative copies of, and use submitted Content for operation, moderation, support, security, and reasonable promotion of the applicable listing, event, job, property, profile, feature, or OurMaricopa service. This license does not transfer your ownership, but it continues for as long as the Content remains reasonably necessary for published services, backups, audit records, disputes, legal compliance, or legitimate operational purposes.
Business image originals may be retained in private storage for moderation and quality processing. Public gallery derivatives may be resized, optimized, stripped of metadata, converted to another technical format, and permanently watermarked with OurMaricopa branding. Business logos are not intentionally watermarked. Uploading Content does not guarantee publication or continued availability.
5. Paid Services, Subscriptions, Promotions, and Stripe
Certain plans, add-ons, publishing tools, and event listings require payment. Unless expressly identified as a one-time purchase, paid subscriptions automatically renew monthly at the price disclosed during checkout until canceled. By completing a purchase, you authorize Stripe and OurMaricopa to charge the selected payment method for the initial purchase and each applicable renewal, including taxes or other amounts disclosed before payment.
Stripe processes payment-card information. OurMaricopa receives transaction status, customer and subscription identifiers, product, billing interval, amount, discounts, and limited billing information needed to activate, administer, reconcile, and support the purchase. OurMaricopa does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes. Stripe's handling of payment information is governed by Stripe's own terms and privacy practices.
Paid features remain subject to eligibility, moderation, content, and product requirements. Payment does not guarantee approval, publication, placement, attendance, leads, applications, sales, responses, traffic, transactions, revenue, or any other result. Access may be restricted when payment fails, a subscription expires, the account is disabled, or an underlying qualifying plan is no longer active. Historical records may remain available even when paid functionality is unavailable.
Promotional codes are subject to their stated product, account, business, date, duration, and redemption limits. They may not be combined unless expressly authorized, exchanged for cash, transferred contrary to their stated terms, or applied retroactively to a completed purchase.
6. Cancellations, Renewals, and Refunds
You may cancel an eligible subscription through the account Billing page. Unless applicable law requires otherwise or a specific written offer states differently, cancellation becomes effective at the end of the current paid billing period. Cancellation stops future renewal charges but does not ordinarily create a refund or credit for a partial billing period. Dependent add-ons must be canceled separately when the applicable billing controls require separate cancellation.
A paid event listing is eligible for a refund when OurMaricopa rejects the submission before publication or cannot provide the purchased listing because of an OurMaricopa error. Once an event is approved or published, the purchase is ordinarily nonrefundable, including when the host cancels or changes the event, participation changes, or the event receives less attention than expected.
If you believe a charge was duplicated, unauthorized, or processed incorrectly, contact us promptly through the Contact us pageand provide the account email, applicable business or event name, charge date, and reason for the request. Do not send a complete card number or security code. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, and financial-institution processing times remain outside OurMaricopa's control.
7. Events, Market Rosters, and Vendor Invitations
Event hosts are responsible for the accuracy, authority, safety, legality, schedule, location, admission, media, and other details associated with an event. Approval or payment does not guarantee attendance, vendor participation, weather conditions, availability, or results.
Market-event hosts may invite a business through its approved OurMaricopa owners or provide a vendor name and email address for invitation purposes. Hosts may not falsely claim participation, harvest addresses, send abusive or misleading invitations, or publicly identify a person or business as participating without the applicable acceptance or administrative confirmation. We use invitation information to deliver and manage the invitation, prevent abuse, and maintain an audit history; we do not disclose to a host whether an invited email address already has an account.
A vendor appears publicly after accepting an invitation or after an administrator confirms participation. Linked vendors display information from their published business listing. An administrator-confirmed vendor without a listing displays only the submitted roster name. Private email addresses and account information are not displayed on the public roster. Vendors may withdraw, and OurMaricopa may remove inaccurate or disputed roster entries. A roster entry does not guarantee attendance, placement, sales, or any legal or commercial relationship between a host and vendor.
8. Jobs, Applications, and Employment Information
OurMaricopa is not an employer, staffing agency, recruiter, background-check provider, or party to an employment relationship. Hiring businesses are solely responsible for job content, compensation statements, screening questions, communications, hiring practices, legal compliance, and employment decisions. We do not guarantee that a job is available, legitimate, accurately described, suitable, or filled, and we do not guarantee an interview, response, offer, or employment outcome.
An application may include contact information, a cover note, screening responses, and a private PDF resume. Application information is shared with approved owners of the hiring business and may be accessed by OurMaricopa administrators for support, moderation, safety, and legal compliance. Applicants must not submit passwords, Social Security numbers, bank information, medical records, or other information the form does not request.
9. Housing, Agents, Brokerages, and Housing Leads
The OurMaricopa Housing Hub is an independent advertising, publishing, discovery, and introduction service. OurMaricopa is not a real estate broker, real estate agent, property manager, landlord, lender, escrow provider, title company, appraiser, inspector, screening company, or party to a purchase, sale, rental, financing, management, or other housing transaction.
Housing publishers must possess authority to advertise each property and remain responsible for accuracy, availability, pricing, condition, disclosures, fair-housing compliance, communications, screening, and all transaction documents. Users must independently verify material facts, professional licenses, property ownership, the identity and authority of the person offering a property, and any request for funds. Never send money or sensitive information before independently confirming the property and recipient.
An OurMaricopa real estate license-review label means only that an administrator compared submitted license and employment information with the public Arizona Department of Real Estate record on the displayed review date. It is not an endorsement, guarantee, continuing license certification, or substitute for independent verification. Agent and brokerage affiliations become public only after required confirmations and review.
Agent Publisher and Business Housing Publisher subscriptions provide the tools and listing limits displayed at checkout. Each property has one publisher and consumes only that publisher's available slot. Properties remain subject to review and expiration, and a subscription does not guarantee publication, inquiries, financing, approval, lease, sale, closing, or any other result.
Direct agent inquiries and inquiries concerning agent-published properties are delivered to the applicable agent. If the agent has a confirmed brokerage affiliation and affirmatively enables lead sharing, approved owners of the brokerage may receive read-only access to lead information available to the agent. Disabling sharing or ending the affiliation removes that brokerage access.
A verified member who submits an OurMaricopa housing matching request authorizes administrators to review the request and, when the member has provided the required consent, to introduce or share the submitted contact information and housing needs with selected agents, brokerages, apartment communities, or other appropriate housing professionals. OurMaricopa may charge professionals for access to leads or related services. Submission does not guarantee a match, response, availability, approval, financing, lease, sale, or transaction.
10. Quote Requests, Recommendations, Gas Prices, Yard Sales, and Community Information
Request a Quote connects a user with one selected business. OurMaricopa does not prepare the quote, verify professional qualifications, guarantee a response, set pricing, supervise performance, process the resulting transaction, or become a party to any resulting agreement, payment, service, injury, loss, or dispute.
Recommendations are positive community endorsements and are not star ratings, professional evaluations, warranties, or guarantees. Approved written endorsements reflect the submitter's statements, not an opinion or endorsement by OurMaricopa. We may moderate, reject, request revision of, hide, or remove recommendations under the service's eligibility, safety, and content standards.
Gas prices are community or administrator reports that may change before arrival and must be confirmed at the pump. Yard sales are community submissions. OurMaricopa does not inspect items, verify ownership, guarantee that a sale is open, or participate in purchases. Sellers must have authority to publish the location and may not offer illegal, stolen, recalled, hazardous, or prohibited goods. Exact residential addresses are intended to be visible only during the seller-selected active period.
Road, route, traffic, travel-time, weather, incident, camera, and public-message information may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or inaccurate. Conditions can change without notice. This information is provided for general community awareness, must not be used while driving, and is not a substitute for official sources, posted instructions, emergency services, or personal judgment.
Donation links may be provided by third parties. OurMaricopa does not control the recipient's use of funds, provide tax advice, or guarantee that a donation is tax deductible.
11. Third-Party Services, Links, and Availability
OurMaricopa depends upon third-party providers and may link to third-party websites, maps, directions, payment services, public data sources, social sharing destinations, business websites, and other resources. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, security, availability, accessibility, practices, changes, or transactions.
The service may be modified, interrupted, delayed, limited, or unavailable because of maintenance, provider outages, network conditions, security events, legal requirements, capacity limits, data-source changes, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. No feature, route, record, integration, or category is promised to remain continuously available or unchanged.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Responsibility
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OURMARICOPA AND ALL CONTENT, DATA, FEATURES, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OURMARICOPA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIRD-PARTY CONTENT OR CONDUCT; BUSINESS, EMPLOYMENT, HOUSING, EVENT, VENDOR, OR COMMUNITY TRANSACTION OUTCOMES; ROUTE, TRAFFIC, WEATHER, CAMERA, PRICE, OR AVAILABILITY ACCURACY; UNAUTHORIZED USER CONDUCT; SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS; LOST OPPORTUNITIES; OR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. NOTHING IN THIS DOCUMENT EXCLUDES OR LIMITS A RIGHT OR RESPONSIBILITY THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED.
13. Privacy Policy and Categories of Information Collected
This Privacy Policy describes the information OurMaricopa collects, the purposes for which it is used, the circumstances in which it may be disclosed, the periods for which it may be retained, and the choices available to visitors, members, applicants, business owners, property publishers, and other users.
13.1 Information You Provide
We collect information submitted through accounts, email verification, password recovery, member settings, business claims and ownership, directory listings, agent profiles and license review, brokerage affiliations, events and vendor invitations, jobs and applications, quote requests, housing inquiries, property listings, recommendations, gas-price reports, yard sales, contact messages, purchases, subscriptions, promotions, reports, moderation matters, and communications with OurMaricopa.
Submitted information may include names, email addresses, telephone numbers, business or organization details, public addresses, residential sale locations, professional information, messages, preferences, application answers, cover notes, private resumes, photographs, videos, and other content. Public forms and feature notices identify information intended for public display or delivery to a selected recipient.
13.2 Automatically Collected and Operational Information
We collect limited technical, authentication, session, device, request, error, security, analytics, and audit information needed to operate, measure, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the service. Rate limits and abuse controls may use a one-way keyed hash derived from an IP address. We do not place raw IP addresses, passwords, resume contents, job-application answers, quote contents, residential addresses, contact details, private notes, or uploaded-file contents into analytics metadata.
Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser technologies to measure visits and engagement on public pages. OurMaricopa excludes administrative, account, and private workflow pages from this integration and removes URL query strings and fragments from page-view locations before they are sent. Advertising signals and personalized-advertising signals are disabled in OurMaricopa's Google Analytics configuration.
13.3 Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe as described in Section 5. We receive only the transaction and billing information reasonably necessary to administer the purchase and do not receive or store complete card numbers or card security codes.
14. Purposes for Which Information Is Used
We use information to create and authenticate accounts; verify email control; administer passwords and sessions; publish, review, update, and moderate content; confirm business and professional relationships; deliver purchased services; manage subscriptions and promotions; route authorized applications, inquiries, invitations, and requests; provide private dashboards; respond to support and legal requests; detect fraud, abuse, and security threats; maintain audit history; measure engagement and service performance; troubleshoot errors; enforce policies; comply with applicable obligations; and protect users, businesses, OurMaricopa, and the public.
First-party analytics may measure page visits, searches, sessions, public-content engagement, saves, shares, applications, quote-form activity, recommendations, account growth, and product activity. Raw analytics events stored directly by OurMaricopa are retained for up to 90 days, while privacy-conscious daily or aggregate totals may be retained indefinitely for trend, performance, security, and business reporting. Provider-hosted analytics are governed by the applicable provider settings and privacy practices.
15. Disclosure and Public Availability of Information
Information is disclosed only as reasonably necessary for the feature used, the recipient selected, service operation, administrative review, provider processing, safety, dispute handling, or legal compliance. Published listings, events, jobs, yard sales during their active period, housing advertisements, recommendations, approved written endorsements, approved profile images, agent profiles, vendor rosters, and selected business media may be publicly available and may be viewed or shared by others.
Approved written endorsements may display the member's name, approval date, approved profile photograph or initials, and endorsement text. Approved agent profiles may display the professional name, headshot or initials, Arizona license number and review date, biography, experience, specialties, service areas, languages, and confirmed brokerage affiliation. Agent telephone and email information and direct contact tools are available only to signed-in members with verified email addresses.
Quote requests, job applications, and direct housing inquiries are shared with the applicable approved business owner, employer, agent, property publisher, or other recipient identified by the feature. Housing matching requests are initially delivered to administrators and may be shared with selected housing professionals only as described in Section 9. Administrator access may occur for support, moderation, safety, quality, dispute resolution, auditing, and legal compliance.
We use service providers including Vercel for hosting, file storage, and privacy-conscious aggregate web analytics; Neon for database hosting; Stripe for payments; Resend for transactional email; and Google services for maps, geocoding, routes, traffic, weather, and public website analytics. Those providers process limited information necessary to provide their services and operate under their respective terms and privacy practices.
We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; protect rights, safety, security, or property; investigate suspected fraud or abuse; enforce this document; complete a business transition subject to appropriate protections; or respond to an emergency. We do not sell passwords, resumes, application answers, private messages, or uploaded-file contents as advertising data.
16. Retention, Security, and Data-Incident Response
Information is retained for the period reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accurate records, support moderation and security, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, satisfy accounting and operational needs, and comply with applicable obligations. Quote-request contact information may be retained for up to 24 months. Job-application information and resumes are scheduled for deletion or anonymization 12 months after the related job closes or expires. Gas-price report history may be retained for up to 12 months. Payment, subscription, audit, moderation, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary.
We use measures including access controls, signed cookies, password hashing, private file storage, rate limits, audit records, and encrypted network connections. No transmission, storage system, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a security incident results in a legally reportable breach of personal information, OurMaricopa will investigate and provide notices as required by applicable law.
17. User Choices, Account Requests, and Children
Subject to feature limitations, legal requirements, and legitimate recordkeeping needs, members may update account information, change passwords, remove saved items, manage recommendations, withdraw eligible pending submissions, adjust sharing settings, cancel subscriptions through the Billing page, and request assistance through the Contact us page. Some information cannot be immediately deleted or restored because it concerns completed transactions, public records, moderation, safety, disputes, backups, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations.
OurMaricopa is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and persons under 13 may not create an account or knowingly submit personal information through the service. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
18. Copyright Complaints and Takedown Requests
OurMaricopa respects the rights of photographers, businesses, creators, and other copyright owners. A person who owns a copyrighted work, or is authorized to act for the owner, may request review of material stored or displayed through the service by submitting a complete written notice through the OurMaricopa Contact page and selecting "Copyright or legal notice."
A notice should include substantially all of the following:
- The physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed or, when applicable, a representative list of works.
- Identification and the exact OurMaricopa location of the material claimed to be infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to locate it.
- The complaining party's name, organization, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement of good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act for the owner.
We may request missing information, restrict access to reported material, notify the uploader, preserve relevant records, and evaluate available counter-notice procedures while a matter is reviewed. Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material may lose upload privileges or be terminated. Submitting a notice does not guarantee removal, and incomplete or inaccurate notices may delay review.
A report about inaccurate listing information that does not concern copyright should be submitted through the listing's Report action or the Contact us page.
19. Policy Changes, Interpretation, and Contact
We may revise this document as the service, provider relationships, operational practices, legal requirements, or available features change. The effective date displayed at the beginning identifies the current version. Material changes will be posted through the service or otherwise communicated when required. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Headings and numbering are provided for reference and do not limit the meaning of any provision. A failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not waive the right to enforce it in another. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
General questions, account requests, billing concerns, privacy inquiries, and support requests may be submitted through the Contact us page. Copyright notices should be sent using the procedure in Section 18.
