Maricopa can spend Saturday, Nov. 7, honoring veterans in the morning and listening to live music after sunset.
The local Veterans Day parade is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. near Central Arizona College on West Bowlin Road and finish near Leading Edge Academy on North Porter Road, according to Tracy P. MacPherson VFW Post 12043. The VFW also lists a luncheon at 1 p.m.
Later that day, the City’s Concerts in the Park page lists a free evening at Mike Ingram Heritage Park. The event opens at 6 p.m., with Groove Machine scheduled to perform from 7 to 9 p.m. with a 15-minute intermission.
Those are two separate events and two separate locations. Families planning to attend both should leave room for the midday gap, confirm any organizer updates and avoid assuming that a parade route map circulating online is current.

Morning: the parade route anchors on Bowlin and Porter
VFW Post 12043 lists the parade start at Central Arizona College on West Bowlin Road and the finish at Leading Edge Academy on North Porter Road. That gives spectators a reliable corridor to plan around, but it is not a complete traffic-control plan.
As of Tuesday morning, OurMaricopa had not recovered a first-party 2026 road-closure schedule, parking map or precise staging diagram. Residents should watch the VFW and City channels for those details rather than treating last year’s instructions or a social-media screenshot as current.
If the parade starts at 9, arriving at 9 is likely to mean arriving during the procession. Families should build in time to park legally, walk to a viewing location and keep children out of the roadway. Do not block neighborhood driveways, emergency access or a marked parade staging area.
The VFW page also lists a 1 p.m. luncheon, but the reviewed event listing does not identify the luncheon location or state who may attend. That is a detail to confirm directly with the organizer before making lunch plans.
A new layer of recognition along the route
This year’s gathering may also give residents their first look at Maricopa’s military tribute banner pilot. The City announced in September that it hoped to install the first purchased banners along Porter Road in time for the Veterans Day celebration.
The goal is not the same as confirmation that every banner has been installed. Residents can read OurMaricopa’s military tribute banner guide for the program terms, but should look to the City for a final installation update.
People bringing signs to honor relatives should keep them small enough not to block another spectator’s view and secure loose materials in windy weather. Families may also want water, sun protection and a plan for meeting if their group becomes separated.
Evening: Groove Machine at Heritage Park
The City’s event page puts the concert at Mike Ingram Heritage Park, 44240 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. Admission is free. The listing tells guests to bring friends, family and a blanket or lawn chair.
The event page says the program begins at 6 p.m. and Groove Machine plays from 7 to 9 p.m. Because the performance continues after sunset, a light layer and a small flashlight for the walk back to the car may be useful. Visitors should follow posted rules for pets, outside food, seating and parking rather than assuming policies from another City event apply.
One official detail needs caution: the standalone City concert page says Saturday, Nov. 7, while a City calendar index has previously shown a different First Friday date. The specific event page is the stronger detail source, but the mismatch is reason to verify the date again before traveling—especially if the City edits the listing.
A practical plan for doing both
Treat the parade, luncheon and concert as separate blocks rather than one continuous festival. After the parade, confirm the luncheon details or make an independent lunch plan. Use the afternoon to recharge, then approach Heritage Park as a new arrival with its own parking and seating needs.
OurMaricopa’s community calendar can help compare other local listings, while the new-resident guide provides broader orientation. Neither replaces same-day instructions from organizers or law enforcement.
The verified outline is simple: parade at 9, an organizer-listed luncheon at 1, concert gates at 6 and live music at 7. The remaining work is to watch for route, parking and luncheon updates before Nov. 7.
