A new set of beginner youth sports classes is scheduled to start at Copper Sky on Saturday, Oct. 3, giving Maricopa families options ranging from parent-and-toddler soccer to a rotating soccer, T-ball and track program.
Beginners Edge Sports Training, known as B.E.S.T., lists a five-week session on the multi-generation lawn at Copper Sky Recreation Complex. The session runs from Oct. 3 through Nov. 7, with no class Oct. 24. The organizer-listed price is $85.
Because several age groups meet back to back, families should match the child’s age to the detailed schedule rather than relying only on the broad time range at the top of the registration page.
B.E.S.T. class schedule at a glance
Soccer, ages 18 months–2: 8:30–9:15 a.m.; bring a soccer ball.
Soccer, ages 3–5: 9:20–10:05 a.m.; bring a soccer ball.
Three-sport, ages 2–3: 10:10–10:55 a.m.; equipment varies by week.
Three-sport, ages 4–6: 11–11:45 a.m.; equipment varies by week.
Soccer, ages 6–9: 11:50 a.m.–12:35 p.m.; bring a soccer ball.
The official B.E.S.T. registration listing is the source for the schedule, age ranges and equipment requirements. Families should use that listing to check current availability and the final checkout price before registering.

One timing detail to confirm
The event summary says the overall program runs from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. The detailed class schedule, however, lists the soccer group for ages 6–9 from 11:50 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
OurMaricopa could not resolve that difference from the organizer’s page. Parents enrolling a child in the oldest soccer group should confirm the exact start and end time with B.E.S.T. before making weekend plans.
How the three-sport program changes by week
The three-sport option is divided into two age groups, but both follow the same weekly activity plan:
Oct. 3 and Oct. 10: soccer; families are asked to bring a soccer ball
Oct. 17 and Oct. 31: baseball; families are asked to bring a T-ball tee and bat
Nov. 7: track and field; the organizer says equipment will be supplied
Oct. 24: no class
That rotating format may help parents decide between the three-sport session and the soccer-only option. Children who want several weeks of one activity can stay with soccer, while the three-sport classes introduce three different activities during the session.
What to check before registering
The listing places the classes on the Copper Sky multi-generation lawn, along North Porter Road. The City of Maricopa’s Copper Sky page has facility information, but program dates, registration and equipment instructions come from B.E.S.T.’s event listing.
Before paying, families should confirm:
the child’s age group and exact time;
whether space remains in that class;
the equipment needed for the first week;
the organizer’s cancellation, weather and make-up policies; and
where on the multi-generation lawn the group will meet.
Outdoor temperatures can still be warm in early October. A water bottle, sunscreen and comfortable athletic shoes belong on the packing list even for the early sessions. OurMaricopa’s local weather page can help families check conditions before leaving home.
More Copper Sky planning
Families coordinating the sports session with other activities can use the OurMaricopa community calendar. Copper Sky also recently opened new pickleball and volleyball courts; our new-courts guide explains where they are and how the city introduced them.
For this B.E.S.T. session, the essential details are Oct. 3 through Nov. 7, no meeting Oct. 24, age-specific Saturday class times and an organizer-listed price of $85. The organizer’s page remains the place to verify availability and the oldest group’s conflicting time before registering.
