Maricopa is getting a reason to linger downtown after sunset. Maricopa First Friday Downtown opens on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 6 to 10 p.m. across the Downtown Heritage District. Instead of one stop-and-go market, the organizer's map invites you to move between local businesses, artists, food and community activities.
What is Maricopa First Friday?
It's a new monthly evening series centered on Maricopa's historic downtown. The October kickoff promises local makers and art, food trucks, live music and performances, classic cars, shopping and family activities. The Heritage District setting is part of the story. The City of Maricopa's Movies in the Park program is joining First Friday at Mike Ingram Heritage Park. The city lists face painting from 6 to 8 p.m., free popcorn, food trucks and a main-stage movie at 7:30 p.m. Bring your own blankets or chairs if you're staying for the film. The city's park program runs until 9 p.m.; the broader downtown First Friday is scheduled until 10 p.m.
How to make the most of it
Give yourself time to explore more than one area. Eat early if you have little ones, or plan a later loop through the makers and music after the park program. Bring comfortable shoes, check each participating business's hours and remember that individual activities may have their own timing.
